Randolph Street Market Season Opener

It's already here, the long awaited Season Opener of Randolph Street Market is this weekend! I am so excited. Every year, as we say hello to summer with Memorial Day weekend, we indulge ourselves into the vintage marvels of the Randolph Street Market. People travel from around the U.S. or even from around the world to shop for the fabulous Antique and vintage finds. Be sure to visit us: there is music, there is food and most importantly you'll be having a great time traveling back in time. Here is Randolph coverage from WGN News for a sneak preview:

Vintage Bazaar

This post is two weeks over due, but better late than never.

Vintage Bazaar was a huge success. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we wish it was every month. We will have to wait until September. The premises, an old warehouse in Pilsen, was a gorgeous space: open brick walls, unfinished wood floors and beams. Definitely an inspiring space with great big windows that let in tons of natural light. These shots were taken before the early buying started. Once the doors opened we couldn't even touch the camera, as our booth was filled with people bumper to bumper. We loved it! I was so impressed with my partner Kimberly's on the spot video interview with Northwestern University News. Who knew she was so prepared. I wanna send a big Thank you to Katherine and Libbey, the awesome organizers of the Vintage Bazaar. Great Job everyone! Can't wait till the September Show.

Fresh back from Istanbul ~ Straight to Modern Vintage

Hello Everyone! I am back to Chicago and back to my blogging. YAY! I've missed it. I know you've missed me, too. *wink, wink - happy face* Even though I have been blogging for a short while, I have been recognized by some cool people I didn't know before and received compliments. I am soooo flattered! This is very rewarding for me.

Like I said, I just got back to Chicago from Istanbul and I meant to continue blogging there but the blogspot.com was shot down because "some really bad people" were streaming the highly monopolized soccer games thru their blogs, and -of course- the prominent cable company had to kill it all together. Just ridiculous! What about the ordinary people like me who strive to write about their experiences? Anyways, I sure will feature some of the great things I saw at the Grand Bazaar, at a later post. Stay tuned.

I am so happy to be at the Modern Vintage this weekend, together with my friend Kimberly of Estate Chicago, fabulous dealer of Vintage Jewelry. She has collected quite a few new gorgeous jewels while I was gone that I was drooling over. I have also been drooling over many many other beauties by other dealers that I will feature in future posts. I am writing this one really quickly just so that I can share my excitement with you ans YES you should definitely come visit us tomorrow!! You won't regret it: Fabulous pieces, great prices, expert dealers and delicious empanadas by two handsome Argentinian guys! Who could ask for more? Here is a sneak peek to wonderfulness. Visitors and Swing Dancers

The ever stylish, cool mom and jewelry designer Lisa Warick Strecker of Blast From The Past Designs, visited our booth in Elgin Show. She designs amazing jewelry using vintage pieces. You can see her jewels and like her page http://www.facebook.com/bftpdesigns. She looked funky as usual, in her colorful sweater, green fur scarf, her own design necklace and hipster booths. I don't know much about the Swing dance. I have danced tango and latin dances, before. But there was something fascinating about this couple's dance. The way they moved and communicated without eye contact, gave them and interesting sensuality. I though they were real sexy together.

This hat display was just like looking at the window of a milliner's shop in the 20s. Just amazing!(I noticed the pop can a bit too late) I love the dramatic faces of the mannequins.
